  • The new species belongs to the group of green pit viper. 
There are over 22 type of green pit vipers found in India. 

  • Trimeresurus salazar os the fifth variety of reptiles to have been discovered in Arunachal pradesh in a little more than a year. 
  • It was discovered from the evergreen forest of the pakke Tiger Reserve in Arunachal pradesh. 

Context --Team of researcherresearchers have discovered a new species of venomous snake in Arunachal pradesh and named it Trimeresurus salazar.
